ACFI History - Formation and Background
Austin
Christian Fellowship of India (ACFI) is a group catering to the
spiritual needs of Christian families of Indian origin in the
Austin, Texas area. Presently this group has a roll of about 35
Indian families and meets every second, fourth Saturdays at the New
Hope community Church in Round Rock, Texas.
This
fellowship started as a small cottage prayer meeting during December
2000 in a South Austin apartment complex. At that time 3 Indian
families were staying in the same apartment complex and would meet
every Saturday for fellowship, get together and study of God’s
word.
Later
these families moved to different parts of Austin and for a very
brief period, there was quietness. Later the fellowship was revived
in October 2000 and ever since God has been wondrously enabling the
growth of this group and reaching out to the families of in the
Austin area.
Presently this group is planning and coordinating missionary
work in the Indian subcontinent and at the same time also redirect
its efforts to bring all Christian families of Indian origin within
the Austin area under a single umbrella to worship and glorify
God.
